The Multi Passionate Girls Guide To Showing Up As All of You

Looks like you’re finally ready to step into your multi-passionate, multi-hyphenate, multi-everything era. And I could not be more excited to officially welcome you to the club. I’ve been waiting for the girlies to join me ‘cause it’s definitely our time, sis.

See, in my brand world, we no longer preach the concept of “niching down” or “picking one lane”. Why? ‘Cause I now know that just doesn’t make sense for women like us! I mean how could it when we literally work 9-5s, own creative businesses, have Notes app overflowing with 378 ideas, thirteen tabs open, and content sitting in drafts.

“Picking one lane” just doesn’t make sense for us… and that’s why my lil corner of the internet exists. To embrace and celebrate the many layers of you and me. ‘Cause nobody and I mean NOBODY should have to shrink or tweak themselves just so what they do and who they are feels “easier to explain”.

Girl press play first

If Vogue Interviewed Me While I Was Building My Dream Life

I love a good blog moment, but before I show you how to step into your multi-passionate, multi-hyphenate, multi-everything era, let me show you what it actually looks like.

Picture this: I’m tucked away at the cutest Airbnb, plotting my next chapter, when a Vogue-ish crew decides they want the lore. We get into the 9–5, the 5–9, the side quests, the dream life, and why I finally stopped introducing myself in pieces.

Because that’s what this guide is really about.

Not picking one lane. Not shrinking yourself to fit somebody else’s version of success. It’s about learning how to show up as all of you—career girl, creative, founder, hobby collector, and everything in between.

So go ahead and press play first. Then come back here, because I’m about to break down the exact framework I used to stop hiding my layers and start building a life that actually fits.

The secret sauce when everyone wants to niche down

Alright sis, next up on the list is my hot take about niching down… While everyone’s busy picking and choosing “one” thing, you have the opportunity to do the realest thing ever; dabble into different hobbies, side quests, and play up your passions. All the things you’ve been ignoring ‘cause they’re so unique and different? Yeah, they actually contribute to a unique personal brand. Your personal brand!

First things first, if you’re only now discovering the phrase multi-passionate creative, sis, you’re in for a good time. A multi-passionate, multi-hyphenate, multi-everything creative is someone who has layers upon layers of passions, hobbies, and creativity. They’re all about experimenting and learning new things that come their way. And guess what? Some of us also have a 9-5 that supports and funds our side quests and businesses. The best part? It just seamlessly becomes a part of our lives.

Multi-passionate creatives catch a lot of heat for “not sticking to one thing.” Meanwhile, the vision is sitting right there. People just don’t know how to read it.

Traditional marketing loves a neat little box. One niche. One title. One easy-to-explain version of you. So when you show up with a career, a business, a creative brain, and five passions, suddenly we’re “doing too much”.

It’s like we literally can’t win!!! If we lead with creativity, freedom, and passion, we’re “not professional enough.” If we lead with the 9-5, the résumé, and the corporate chops, we’re “too professional” and somehow expected to leave the parts that actually make us feel alive at home.

For years, I played that game. I toned down my creativity to look more polished. I went from removing the colorful nail polish, bold lipsticks, and gold eyeshadow to code-switching my whole personality. My résumé looked perfect. My life looked responsible. And the girl who loved hobbies, storytelling, creating, and trying new things? She was bored, sis.

So I finally decided to stop introducing myself in pieces. I found a way to bring the corporate world, the 5-9, the creativity, the side quests, and the actual woman living the multi-everything life into one room. And guess what?! I’m going to show you how to do the same.

Cliff notes for the multi girl

If you’re the type to skip to the good part first (girl… same), here’s everything we’re getting into.

  1. Stop Introducing Yourself In Pieces
  2. Stack Your Passions Into Something Bigger
  3. Pick a platform that actually fits
  4. Remember the Girl Before the Résumé.
  5. Clock Out… and Become Interesting Again

How to show up confidently as a multi-everything girl

Alright sis, now that you’re living the multi-hyphenate life, we need you to build systems and structure that actually work for you. I’m going to hold your hand when I say this: It is possible to show up as your full self in your corporate and creative life.

And we’re not about to ditch our hobbies and passions just ‘cause the world asks us to. I’m laying out everything that I’ve learned along the way — tips, tricks, hacks, how-tos, you name it. So screenshot, copy & paste, save, whatever you need to do to track and follow this. You’re gonna love it.

Your different passions and hobbies are not your side piece, sis. So no need to hide the things and parts of you that you genuinely enjoy. You’ve got ideas busting out of every drawer and passions that turn heads. But you’re trying to push them down, keep them hidden behind closed doors, while forcing yourself to stick to a single lane. For what, sis? So that you can put out a polished, corporate version of yourself that washes out your creative spirit?

Now let’s talk facts, there are people out here asking the Queen Riri herself to “pick one lane”. When they should be minding their own! They want her to just focus on music, drop her next album, and put all the other creative avenues on pause. Instead, sis is out here killing it, running a skincare & beauty empire, got her Savage x Fenty line down, but most importantly… She moves at her own pace, marches to the beat of her own drums, and builds with fierce intention.

She is most definitely not afraid of experimenting and showing up in this world unapologetically herself. If she were running behind one title, you’d probably never get to witness her brilliance that comes through her many passions.

And this applies to you too. The first step in building yourself up is accepting that you’re versatile. You’ve got passions for days that can be stacked up into something bigger and better. Whether you’ve got your CEO hat on or corporate bag, you can bring all your layers together so people resonate with your multi-passionate world.

I spy with my side-eye the running list of things you’re great at. Some came from your 9–5. Some came from hobbies you accidentally got really good at. Some are passions you’ve loved since you were ten, and others are random little obsessions that showed up one Tuesday and never left.

Yet, here we are with a résumé that pays the bills and a personality collecting dust. Now you’re out there wondering, “Which passion should I choose?” Girl, you’re asking the wrong question. The better question is, “Which passions belong together?” And that’s what I call passion stacking.

Passion stacking isn’t about doing everything. It’s about figuring out which skills, passions, and experiences naturally strengthen each other, then building your life, brand, or business around that instead of squeezing yourself into one tiny little niche because somebody on the internet told you to.

Take the girl who loves photography, videography, and social media. She doesn’t need three businesses. She could offer content days, launch a creator membership, sell templates, teach workshops, host retreats, and build an entire content ecosystem where every offer feeds the next.

How about the talented illustrator who also loves podcasting? She doesn’t have to choose. She can interview creatives, illustrate every episode, turn those conversations into collectible books, license the artwork, sell prints, teach workshops, and build a community around visual storytelling.

And let’s not forget the corporate product manager who’s obsessed with AI, systems, education, and brand strategy. She doesn’t have random skills collecting dust. She has the foundation for tech, digital products, strategy intensives, templates, courses, and content that all solve the same problem from different angles. See what I did there?

None of those women needed fewer passions. They needed a better plot.

Because when you stop treating your passions like side pieces and start treating them like collaborators, you stop juggling ten different identities and start building one world that holds all of you. That’s the art of passion stacking!

Sis, I’m going to hold your hand when I say this: You don’t need ten different social media accounts for every hobby and passion you hold. On one account you’re talking about your beauty business, on another you’re emphasizing health and wellness. Every page holds a part of you but they’re all disconnected from each other. It’s giving unsure, sis.

The amount of times I see multi-passionate women like us build different profiles and curate it to the ‘T’, only to ghost all of them is insane. They’d step in with a feed that looks amazing. Then, boom, three months down the line you don’t see them anywhere because it’s a hassle trying to manage parts of yourself in this way. It’s happened to me too, girl. So I get it.

The idea of showing up on so many platforms while holding my corporate life was pulling me apart. In fact, I’ve only recently realized that I’m a long-form girlie so most of the platforms I’ve been forcing just never made sense for me. My newsletters? They were always long. My video editor always complained about how long my talking head videos were for Instagram’s “60 sec” preferences. That’s when I noticed I’ve got a lot to say and most of these social media platforms? They’re not built like that. I was forcing myself to work for the algo instead of myself. So now, I’m trying something different. I’m pivoting to YouTube where my yapping and creative direction skills might be more appreciated. Sis, it’s all about finding the right fit.

The algorithm will keep coming back to you with another excuse, another feature, and new rules. The CEO of Instagram literally has an account dedicated to tell us how we should be using the app. We can’t even use it the way we like or enjoy it. That’s kinda wild ‘cause we’re trying to legit fit a mold that doesn’t fit us. And frankly, I’m tired! I think the best way to go about it is to figure out what actually makes sense in your “real life”. That’s what I do with my clients who just post and pray. I help them pick one platform, one profile, and one golden thread that pulls everything together. I call that the perfect brand fit!

You’ve ignored your inner child for far too long, sis. Remember that girl who used to obsessively read and get through books like crazy? Or the one who was painting, dancing, or cooking up something new every single day? And, that’s exactly how you became a multi-passionate, multi-hyphenate, multi-everything girlie in the first place!

You got caught up in the office politics and trying to be more polished but the creative side of you? She’s still waiting for you to look after her. This is the time to let yourself explore the creative side of you because we need all of you. Reconnecting with that little girl can look like picking up a hobby you used to love or going on a few side quests during your free time

Here’s what I would do: I’d figure out what your moods, vibes, creative aspirations, and real-life structure looks like. Then reflect on what’s working vs what feels off. If you thought you’d only have to audit projects and KPIs in your corporate life? Sis, think again. Every part of your life deserves to be audited and realigned, including your passions.

When you put that creative girl first, you’re actually letting yourself find newer ways to build systems that work. When you do this the first time around, it could be scary. But this is a part of building something new. You’re literally fueling the part of the brain that was once just focusing on surviving corporate America.

Corporate girlies, pack it up, we need to have a little meeting — and no, this one does not require a calendar invite. You’ve been running the corporate show for so long, you’ve gone from bold & experimental to Beige Betty. You’ve got an excellent résumé, polished LinkedIn, color-coded calendar, and absolutely no idea what she enjoys once the laptop closes.

Forget the titles, the deliverables, and answer this, who are you outside of your 9-5? I’m not talking about the person who’s phone everyone’s hitting up when something’s on fire. I’m talking about the REAL YOU. The girl who wants to dance in the kitchen with her man, take a random class, binge the show everybody has been yelling about, call her homegirl, read for fun, try Pilates, make something ugly, or pick up a hobby without immediately asking whether it can become a revenue stream.

‘Cause somewhere between Outlook reminders, Slack notifications, and being the responsible one, a lot of us stop making room for the parts of life that make us colorful.

Then we’re sitting there wondering why we feel flat, disconnected, and burnt out.

And yes, we love a girl who gets the bag. Secure it, direct deposit it, and admire it responsibly. But the goal is not to become the girl who’s always clocked in and status stays on “busy”. We’re saying bye-bye to Beige Betty. We need Colorful Cora and her hobbies. She’s not just about meetings, but plans that priortize PTO.

Go on a weekend getaway. Sign up for the dance class. Try hiking and Pilates. Plan the craft night with your homegirls. Watch the show that’s been stuck on pause on Netflix. Just go outside and touch some grass, girl!

Your passions will keep getting pushed aside until you stop treating them as optional. For a multi-passionate, multi-hyphenate, multi-everything woman, play is a must. The career can be impressive. But the woman living the life should be even more interesting.

Who's that girl

Hey! If this is your first time stumbling into my little corner of the internet, I’m so happy you’re here. I’m Milora — but everybody calls me Milo.

I’m a first-gen American, corporate tech girl, creative director, brand strategist, systems lover, and a multi-passionate, multi-hyphenate, multi-everything woman building a life that can actually hold all of me.

And around here, my whole thing is helping women like us stop shrinking, stop introducing ourselves in pieces, and start building lives, brands, and systems that actually fit.

Basically, if you’ve got a 9–5, a 5–9, a Notes app full of ideas, and a quiet suspicion that your life is meant to be bigger, softer, and way more you… you’re in the right place.

And if you’re thinking, “Okay cute, now where do I start?” — I got you.
